Description
This majestic tapestry, originally woven in the late 17th century at the Royal Gobelins Manufactory, presents a winter view of the Château de Monceaux—part of a grand series representing the months of the year. The Palais de Monceaux panel honors December with its crisp scenery, noble figures, and architectural grandeur, all rendered in tones that remain vibrant yet timeless.
Handwoven in pure New Zealand wool using centuries-old techniques, each thread pays tribute to the artistry of French court weavers. The tapestry is fully lined and features a built-in sleeve for hanging with a decorative rod, or it can be mounted with a concealed wooden batten for a more minimalist presentation.
