Most consoles are 16 to 18 inches deep, which is too much for a narrow hall. The Hallam is 11 inches deep and 48 inches wide: enough for a lamp, a tray for keys and a place to drop the post, while leaving the hall clear to walk through.
A single shallow drawer holds sunglasses and spare keys, and a lower shelf takes a basket for shoes. Finished in natural mahogany, antique white or black.
