The Pavilion Faux Bamboo Side Table is a rectangular side table in mahogany, carved to look like bamboo, painted antique white and set with a glass top.

Every part of it, from the legs to the rim of the top, is turned and carved with bamboo nodes, each outlined with a fine dark line. Below the top, a band of fretwork runs around all four sides, built from short interlocking bamboo sections in an open lattice that drops to a point at the centre of each side. The glass sits inside the bamboo rim, so the top can take a lamp, books or a tray without marking the paint. Lower down, a shelf of bamboo rods and smaller fretwork ties the four legs, which finish in flared feet. Faux bamboo of this kind belongs to English Regency and late-Victorian chinoiserie rooms; painted white, it reads lighter, and suits a garden room, a guest bedroom or a living room with linen and blue-and-white.
