Library tables in English country houses were built to stay in one place for generations: wide, plain on top and architectural below. The Grosvenor stands on four turned Tuscan columns, two at each end, each on a stepped plinth, with a moulded stretcher running the length of the desk at floor level.
The frame, columns and drawers are solid mahogany; the top is a book-matched mahogany veneer framed by a solid moulded edge, which keeps a surface this wide flat. Three drawers across the front with small brass knobs.
