The Sutherland Teak Bookcase stands at 89 inches, giving the piece a confident vertical presence while maintaining a restrained footprint through its slender 16-inch depth. Built in natural teak and elevated on tapered legs, the silhouette feels deliberate and composed rather than heavy.
Open shelving creates generous space for books, objects, and framed pieces, allowing collections to evolve naturally over time. Beneath the shelves, a single drawer provides concealed storage and introduces a subtle herringbone parquetry pattern. In teak, the pattern reveals itself through grain and light rather than sharp contrast, giving the detail a quiet, restrained elegance.
Finished with sculpted bronze-toned hardware, the piece balances craftsmanship with restraint. The result is a bookcase that works equally well as storage and backdrop, creating structure in the room while allowing the objects it holds to take center stage.
