The Hudson River Valley Table is a two-tier side table in mahogany, finished in high-gloss black lacquer and built on four bobbin-turned legs.
The rectangular top has a moulded edge and sits over a deep cove and a scalloped apron that runs along each side. Each leg is turned as a column of stacked rings with a single swelling at its centre, and is squared into a block where it meets the top and again at the shelf. The lower shelf repeats the moulded edge of the top and stands on four block feet. The turning follows seventeenth-century bobbin furniture; the gloss black finish keeps the outline crisp in a contemporary room. At 27½″ high, it sits level with the arm of most armchairs and sofas, with a lamp and a drink on the top and books on the shelf.
